Girls’ single-school and club teams have one more month to register for their respective national invitational championships. Applications for both competitions are due March 1.
The high school club championship will take place Friday-Saturday, May 19-20, in Elkhart, Ind. Invitations will be circulated next week. Teams that would like to be considered for inclusion must register by March 1 and fill out this form. More information can be found at the event site, http://hsgirlsrugbynationals.club.
The single-school national championship occurs Saturday-Sunday, May 20-21, also at the Moose Rugby Ground in Elkhart. All interested teams must complete this registration form by March 1. The form also includes information on hotels and organizing committee contacts.
The girls’ high school championship has been held every year since 2000, and in its 18 years of existence has never failed to draw the best high school teams in the nation. The grassroots-driven event has always had a growth component to the tournament, whether hosting a festival or Division II competition to introduce up-and-coming programs to the national scene.
In 2016, the national championship separated into single-school and club competitions to reflect the growth of the high school game. 2017 sees the two competitions reunite in terms of date and location, and will showcase the most aspirational teams in the country.
