The Women’s Division I Spring 15s Championship kicks off the whole weekend at 12 p.m. on Saturday. BYU has booked its repeat spot in the title match, but the Cougars’ opponent is TBD. Virginia backed out, and so CRAA approached eastern regional participants Univ. Florida and North Carolina State as replacements. The Gators just confirmed that the university won’t release emergency monies to fund the trip, and the team is gutted not to travel. 5.2 UPDATE With just days to go before the DI spring championship, BYU has been informed that the game has been canceled for lack of opponent.

Two men’s college championships close out Saturday, and then the Women’s Division II Spring 15s Championship is the first game on Sunday at 12 p.m. Southern California’s Claremont Colleges is back to defend its 2022 spring title, and Capital’s Howard University out of Washington, D.C., is the challenger.

The Premier Division of CRAA’s 7s Championship series follows immediately after the DII spring final at 2 p.m. [There is a separate CRAA 7s championship occurring the following weekend, May 13-14, in Texas, and those competitions will serve DI and DII members.] The 16-team field involves NCAA programs, DI Elite teams and a motley CRAA Selects squad that is seeking a head coach.

*Due to some teams declining to participate, CRAA has added a CRAA Select squad (i.e., motley) as the 16th team. Games against CRAA Select do not count toward standings or point differentials, but the motley squad will play all games and finish 16th. Players who are registered to any of the Premier 7s teams may participate, including those who are have been named to their respective travel squads. These players are still able to play for their own teams. The CRAA Selects might be a good fit for players 12-15, who might not get a ton of playing time on their home teams. A coach and manager are still be sought.
