The Girls’ High School National 15s Tournament has resumed for the first time since May 2019, the year before Covid-19 canceled two-straight seasons of rugby. Fourteen single-school teams are reporting to Notre Dame College in Euclid, Ohio, from May 21-22, and Division I and Division II champions will be named.
The National Girls Coaches Committee has seeded the field and released the schedule. See below. Division I is single elimination with a consolation bracket. Teams will play two 45-minute matches on Saturday (quarterfinals and then either championship semifinals or 5th place semifinals), and Sunday is for placing matches, which are are 60 minutes long. Division II is pool play matches on Saturday, and then standings will supply 1st, 3rd and 5th place games for Sunday.
On Saturday, there is no overtime and matches move directly to kick tie-breakers. On Sunday, tie games will follow with two, five-minute overtime periods. Games will live-stream on The Rugby Network.
