Job Opening: NCAA DIII Bowdoin College, Women’s Rugby Head Coach

Long-time Bowdoin College Women’s Rugby Head Coach MaryBeth Mathews retired at the end of the 2022-23 academic year, capping an illustrious 29-year career as the Polar Bears’ leader [read Bowdoin’s tribute]. On June 2, the athletics department launched a nationwide search for Mathews’ replacement: Job description & application.

Bowdoin is a liberal arts college located in Brunswick, Maine. The town is home to approximately 20,000, and the campus is close to the coast, 25 miles from Portland, and 120 miles north of Boston. The women’s rugby team is an NCAA Division III varsity program and competes in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association. Bowdoin is the three-time reigning DIII national champion.
