The 2024 Old North State Invitational occurs this Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 9-10 at Guilford College, in Greensboro, N.C. It’s a 15s rugby tournament, and the girls’ division includes five teams — perfect for two 45-minute games per day. This post will add rosters as they circulate. [lead photo c/o @AtlantisRugby]
ATLANTA VALKYRIES
The Valkyries return as the 2023 runner-up and have been busy playing 7s this fall. On Oct. 28, the team traveled to Knoxville, Tenn., for the annual Halloween 7s tournament, which also serves as a final tune-up for Tennessee teams readying for their state 7s championship (Father Ryan won the trophy last weekend). The Valkyries swept the field. Read more and watch a replay of team’s games. This weekend’s team will be a little bit younger and less experienced relative to the Halloween 7s squad, as some injuries have creeped into the lineup, but look for stellar leadership in seniors Ari Pappas and Sara Zavieh, both of whom have played at the representative level.
