EIRA Marks 1st Girls’ International Tour in Ireland

Eagle Impact Rugby Academy (EIRA) is, for the first time in its history, on international tour with girls’ U16 and U18 teams. The USA Rugby National Development Program is in Ireland from July 18-30 and will play three 15s games against Irish provincial teams.

Forty-seven players were selected to the U16 (22) and U18 (25) squads (rosters below). They represent California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin. Both teams will play Munster on July 22, Leinster on July 26, and Ulster on July 29. The group is currently residing at Clongowes Wood College in Clane, Ireland.

Lindsey Mahoney is the EIRA girls’ lead coach, and was most recently seen in Washington, D.C., helping the Headliners to a PR 7s tournament win. Mahoney is the head coach of DI Grand Canyon University and on staff for the new Pacific South U23 all-star 15s program. She’s an active for DI Tempe and also played rugby in Ireland for the Suttonians in Dublin.
