Nine States Represented at HS 15s Nationals

The 22nd Annual Girls’ High Schools 15s National Tournament has finalized its list of participants and welcomes 14 rugby teams to Notre Dame College (Euclid, Ohio) on May 21-22. There are eight teams in Division I, six teams in Division II, and nine states represented.

Columbia Central – Columbia, Tenn.
Divine Savior Holy Angels – Milwaukee, Wisc.
Eagle – Eagle, Idaho
Grandville – Grandville, Mich.
Hamilton – Sussex, Wisc.
Highland – Medina, Ohio
Orchard Park – Orchard Park, N.Y.
Penn – Mishawaka, Ind.
Saint Joseph Academy – Cleveland, Ohio
Summit – Breckenridge, Colo.
Wando – Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Watkins Memorial – Etna, Ohio

The National Girls Coaches Committee will seed the field in May, place the top-eight teams in Division I, and the remaining six into Division II. DI games are single elimination with consolation brackets. Quarterfinals and semifinals will be played Saturday and then finals on Sunday. DII is divided into two pools of three, so teams will play two pool play games Saturday, and then reseeded for Sunday finals.

Saturday’s games are 22-and-a-half-minute halves and there is no overtime. Ties move directly to shots at goal. Sunday matches are 30-minute halves. Click here for more information on tournament rules and tie-breakers.

Games begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. See the full schedule. The DII final is at 11 a.m., and the DI championship is at 12:30 p.m. Award ceremonies follow.
